As of May 10, 2013 comes into force of the Complementary Health Standards for the Regulation of Drug Prescribing and Dispensing

Since last May 10, the Resolution 028 published in the Official Gazette No. 40.131 of March 19 by the Ministry of Health came into effect, this Resolution changes the way that doctors and pharmacists prescribe and dispense drugs, this in order to guarantee the right of all people to access these drugs through medical composition, pharmaceutical form and dosage.

The resolution, which had already suffered an extension past April 18, is intended, that both doctors and pharmacists, are required to prescribe drugs noting the International Nonproprietary Name (INN) of the pharmaceutical product, indicating its concentration, dosage form, route of administration and dose / dosage unit, using medical prescriptions or recipes that must necessarily comply with the requirements of Article 5 of this Resolution, which expressly prohibits recipes that have printed names, logos or slogans from pharmaceutical companies.

In view of the entry into force of this Order, last May 9, the first list of Active Ingredient (DCI) was published.

According to this Resolution the penalty to be imposed are those that are already established in the Organic Law of Health and the Medicines Act.
